Bottom line: In JAMA Internal Medicine, a double blind RCT of 99 primary care centers in the UK evaluated the effect of d-Mannose on the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections among women. In comparing patients with 2 gm daily d-mannose powder vs matched placebo, there was no evidence that d-mannose reduced the risk of future UTIs.
