The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) is committed to offering its members and other healthcare professionals the opportunity to participate in valuable educational activities that address identified practice gaps, optimize patient care, and facilitate advances in healthcare epidemiology, infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.

SHEA Spring

The SHEA Spring Conference occurs annually in different locations around the US. The interprofessional educational program includes topics on healthcare epidemiology, antibiotic stewardship, implementation science, research methods, clinical microbiology, patient safety and quality.


IDWeek is a joint annual meeting of IDSA, SHEA, HIVMA, PIDS, SIDP. This is an inclusive meeting that offers access to internationally recognized leaders in the field and the opportunity to network with the most highly respected health professionals in infectious diseases.

Online Education Center

Earn continuing education credits and MOC points through LearningCE online. Members receive most LearningCE activities for free or at a highly discounted rate. Education formats include webinars, podcasts, virtual workshops, and eLearning modules.

Primer for Healthcare Epidemiology, Infection Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship

An online training program developed for Infectious Disease students, trainees and other physicians and healthcare practitioners. This course meets the requirements for infectious disease fellows looking for coursework in healthcare epidemiology & infection prevention as outlined by the American Board for Internal Medicine (ABIM).
