COVID-19 Update | May 28, 2021
Important Highlights
Your input is needed on COVID-19 hospital data reporting
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in partnership with the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness (ASPR) and other federal agency partners, collectively organized as the Data Strategy and Execution Working (DSEW) Group, is seeking consultation from SHEA as part of a process to inform a comprehensive re-evaluation and refinement of the COVID-19 data elements that hospitals are currently required to report.  DSEW is seeking feedback on your current experience with the hospital reporting requirements and recommended changes that could reduce reporting burden, improve data quality, and ensure critical data are available to guide public health action. Representatives from the DSEW have compiled a set of questions to help guide you in providing your feedback. Please assist SHEA and our federal partners by logging into LearningCE and completing a set of questions. Completing this survey may take 10-30 minutes depending on how much detail you choose to provide and the number of colleagues you may need to consult within your institution. The survey will remain open until Thursday, June 3, close of business. If you experience difficulties accessing the survey, please email
