Deborah S. Yokoe, MD, MPH

Dr. Yokoe is the Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director of the Infection Control Department and a member of the Infectious Diseases Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She currently serves as a SHEA Councilor and SHEA Education & Research Foundation board member and is a member of the SHEA Research Committee.

She continues to be the SHEA co-lead for the updating of “A Compendium of Strategies to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections in Acute Care Hospitals”. She is also currently a member of the CDC’s Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) and is a CDC Prevention Epicenters investigator.

Her research has focused on evaluating methods for efficient detection of healthcare-associated infections.
