Dr. Daniel Livorsi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine. He also serves as the Medical Director for Antimicrobial Stewardship within the Iowa City VA Healthcare System. 

He currently has a Career Development Award from the Veterans Health Administration to study the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship, particularly in hospitals with limited resources.

Dr. Livorsi received his undergraduate degree in history at Rice University and his medical degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago. His completed his post-graduate training at Baylor University (Internal Medicine) and Emory University (Infectious Diseases). 

Dr. Livorsi is an active volunteer with SHEA. He served for 2 years on SHEA’s journal club. He helped plan SHEA’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Research Workshop and helped write SHEA’s white paper on antimicrobial stewardship research priorities. He has been a member of SHEA’s Research Committee since 2017.
